Campaign Background

New secondary supply laws came into effect from 20 November 2015.

Secondary supply laws mean it will be against the law to provide under 18s with alcohol, in private settings, without parental consent.

Key message

Giving alcohol to under 18s in private settings without parental consent will be against the law. 

Target audience

Primary

  • Parents of young people aged between 12 to 17 years in Western Australia. 

Secondary 

  • Western Australian community particularly those in contact with under 18s.

Campaign objectives

  1. Increase community awareness of the new secondary supply laws.
  2. Increase community understanding of the importance for preventing the supply of alcohol to young people.
  3. Increase personal and community compliance with secondary supply laws
